European equities powered higher at the open Tuesday as markets get a boost from Wall Street.
A rally on Wall Street Monday has given markets in Asia a confidence boost overnight and looks set to do the same for European equities, which closed mixed yesterday as investors digested the impact of Islamist terrorist attacks in Paris Friday in which 129 people died.
U.S. stocks gained Monday on a sharp jump in oil prices boosted by geopolitical concerns following weekend terror attacks in Paris. The major U.S. averages closed more than 1 percent higher, recovering some of their sharp declines last week.
In business news, Volskwagen claimed that it has cheated in more cars than in was said earlier. However, Volkswagen stocks were up at the beginning of session.
