Asian equity markets traded mostly higher shrugging off the lackluster close from Wall Street, with Nikkei 225 (1.10%) as the out-performer following the release of poor trade figures in which exports (0.6% vs. Exp. 3.8%) grew at its slowest pace since August 2014 and subsequently increased calls for BoJ easing. Elsewhere, ASX 200 (-0.50%) was weighed by financials as large banks extended on yesterday’s declines, while the Shanghai Comp. (+0.40%) was underpinned by gains in Telecoms after sector sales rose by 7% Y/Y.
