A Mixed Open For U.S Stocks

The opening bell on Wall Street today saw little early change in stocks after last week the S&P 500 posted it’s best gains of the year. Investors are awaiting further signals on the strength of the world’s biggest economy ahead of a steady stream of corporate earnings reports later this week.
Earnings are projected to have fallen 7.2 percent in the third quarter with the energy and materials companies facing the brunt of this slump. Volumes are expected to be lower due to it being Columbus day today.
